Hal graduated from Brown University with honors in economics, writing his thesis “The Effects of the 2003 Smoking Ban on New York City Restaurants.” He graduated cum laude from Fordham University School of Law. While in law school, Hal made the Dean’s List, was an Associate Editor of Fordham’s Urban Law Journal and received the Archibald R. Murray Public Service Award magna cum laude. In addition, Hal placed 1st in the American Bar Association’s Negotiation Competition in the New York, New Jersey and Connecticut Region and placed 4th in the American Bar Association’s National Negotiation Competition.
Prior to law school, Hal spent several years in the advertising industry, having risen to the position of Account Executive for GEICO and the History Channel. Before joining Coopersmith and Coopersmith, Hal honed his legal skills at McGuireWoods, the New York Legal Assistance Group as well as in the legal department of Channel 13/WNET. From 2015 to 2019, Hal was named by SuperLawyers as a Rising Star for the New York Metro Area.
